truck is – I can be at home, the office, or even a hotel room."
- Tim Harding, Provincial Operations Manager with SaskTel
Background
Tim Harding, a Provincial Operations Manager with SaskTel, is responsible for ensuring SaskTel’s seven hundred unit fleet is efficient, in touch and safe. Challenge
“Before we had LoadTrak™ service, it was hard to keep in touch with drivers – there were times when trucks were being dispatched to work sites that could have been reached more quickly by another vehicle. It was difficult to estimate how long a particular job would take.”
Solution
How has the LoadTrak solution improved your productivity and workflow? LoadTrak service has saved us time and money by keeping us in touch with our drivers. All we have to do is look at a screen to see where a vehicle is, rather than making three or four calls. It lets us focus on dispatching the driver closest to the job.
Has the LoadTrak solution helped with customer service? Yes, because LoadTrak service gives us the historical data we need to make accurate job estimates. Now we can better serve our customers by making more effective use of our time.
What about convenience? With LoadTrak service, I don't have to be tied to one computer to find out where a truck is - I can be at home, the office, or even a hotel room. Also, multiple employees located across the province can log into the LoadTrak service from wherever they are.
Does the LoadTrak solution help with safety? LoadTrak service helps us to improve the safety of our fleet by monitoring vehicles at the start and the end of each day. We can verify that everybody has gotten home safely.
How do your drivers feel about LoadTrak service? There were some initial doubts, but most employees, especially the technicians in the far north, realize the LoadTrak system has helped improve their productivity and personal safety.
